The Centre for Rising Powers (CRP) and The Cambridge Society for the Study of the Political Economy of China (CSSPEC) is delighted to invite you to a presentation by Adrian Wood, Professor Emeritus of International Development, University of Oxford, titled:

The Evolving Influence of Socialism on China's Economic Development

Abstract:
After reviewing some possible meanings of ‘socialism’, I will discuss
its influence on China’s economic development during the three decades
before 1978, the three decades after 1978, and the three decades that
lie ahead.  I will conclude with an overall assessment of the
contribution of socialism to China’s past and likely future progress.
